A custom script is needed to translate a Dynamic Document’s fields to the display label instead of field code in Power Bi.


Steps:

  1. Bring down both the 'Documents - Custom/Dynamic' and 'Other - Form Definitions - All' tables
  2. Navigate to the Data tab (middle tab on the left sidebar)
  3. Near top of the screen navigate to Home → Transform Data  
  4. Right click the 'Custom/Dynamic' table on the left and select 'Duplicate'
  5. Navigate to the newly created table and click on Home → Advanced Editor
  6. Pasted the provided script into this window replacing YOUR_URL, YOUR_REALM, and YOUR_FORM_DEFINITION_ID with the appropriate information. The url and realm should be what you entered when you initially chose Kaseware from the get data menu item, and the form definition ID is the UUID for the specific form type you are attempting to translate.
  7. Click done and you should have a Table with the all of your Dynamic Documents of the desired type with multiple columns on the far right that contain the translated data from the DynamicData.
