Occasionally when cases are assigned to more than one user or user groups, when trying to close or update a case or document, one of the following messages can appear: 



To resolve the issue, the user identified in the notification will either need to close any documents associated with the case that they have open, submit any documents that are currently pending edits, or finish any updates they are making to the case. Those documents should appear as a draft document in that user's workbox (My Work) widget on the dashboard or under My Monitored Items if the particular document is waiting for approval. Once the draft document is opened and either deleted (trash icon in the upper left of the document) or submitted (file document option under workflow in the upper left of the document), the error message will be resolved and the investigation can be closed.
